The Carolina Hurricanes, (17-24-9) will play their final game before the All Star Break tonight as they take on division rival, the Winnipeg Jets, (22-20-6) tonight at the RBC.

The Hurricanes are coming off a tough, 2-1 overtime loss against the Islanders on Saturday night. The Jets also lost Saturday night, 4-3 in a shootout to Florida.

Expect the lines to be the same as against the Islanders:

  • Tlusty, Staal, Ruutu
  • Dwyer, Sutter, Nodl
  • Jokinen, Skinner, Dalpe
  • Stewart, Brent, LaRose
  • Gleason, Allen
  • Harrison, Faulk
  • McBain, Joslin

Cam Ward will be facing Chris Mason in net. Mason has three wins against Carolina in all three meetings between the teams so far this season.

I think it’s a good night for the Canes to change their fortunes against the Jets this season. Canes are a much different team at least in their game now since they last faced off with the Winnipeg. With Evander Kane out at least improves the odds for collecting another point if not 2. LETS GO CANES!

Yeah, let’s hope so. As bad as we are, I’m still kinda surprised we’ve been as bad as we have against the division so far.

3-0 against the Bruins, but still in the league basement says a lot.

Ha, I know what you mean. If you would have told me at this point in the season that we were 5-0 against Boston, Chicago and Vancouver I would have thought we were having a real solid year.
