All-Star break always makes me realize just how much hockey I watch – how much it consumes my life. Caught up on work and twiddled my thumbs. With no games to watch it’s amazing how much one gets done.

A Deflating Game
I recognized this team. It was the one that started the season. It’s obviously hard on all the teams to come back after the ASG break; but this was a pretty brutal game to watch live. The best news is that the way Columbus is going this season, it will lose the lottery pick, so the Hurricanes have hope of getting the first pick in the draft.
Surprisingly until Ward’s mental funk to allow the third goal, despite being outplayed the Islanders, the Hurricanes were in the game. I also imagine it is hard on the players knowing that trades are coming. All in all, it was a deflating game to watch.
