Hey guys

Watched the game last night, and hope we up the effort a bit.

by NorwegianCaniac on Feb 18, 2012 6:46 PM EST reply actions

I have to admit, I was a little torn on last night’s game. The win was nice, but they honestly should have lost based on how lethargic they played for long stretches. Games like that are tough to come up with postgame questions for…you can’t exactly go into the locker room and say “well, you played like crap but you won, your thoughts?”

by Brian LeBlanc on Feb 18, 2012 6:51 PM EST up reply actions

Brian, last night was only the 2nd game I have seen in person this year, and I thought the play in the 1st 2 periods was in our favor. However, to have that 3rd period against a team that had played the night before was a little disappointing. I think PDawg did fine. But the defense needed a little bit of work.

by jbwhite99 on Feb 18, 2012 6:57 PM EST up reply actions

It was an ugly win, no doubt, and I have to admit I thought Peters would mess up. However, after Muller, we’ve not submitted to the pressure as easily as earlier.

by NorwegianCaniac on Feb 18, 2012 6:58 PM EST up reply actions

However, instead of ripping the Sharks apart, like we should have considering their game the night before, we kind of leaned back for the second half of the game, which was really bad. Giving them the momentum like that is never good, and a team with initially no legs, suddenlt finds them.

by NorwegianCaniac on Feb 18, 2012 7:00 PM EST up reply actions

Well said Brian, I hope Captin Kirk told the team a much better effort will be needed tonight in order to win, otherwise were going home with a 1 game loosing streak.

yeah - like knocking his ass to the ice whenever he has the puck.

we need our defensive corp getting tougher with the hits in the corners, more hip checks, and generally getting nasty with the opposing puck handlers

Joslin could be a force in front of the net. He also drilled Grabner, with a clean hit. I think this kind of fourth line is what Muller, MacLean, and Brind’Amour have in mind.

Sutter’s goal woke us up. Been much better after that.

by NorwegianCaniac on Feb 18, 2012 7:45 PM EST up reply actions

Well, the momentum from Sutter’s goal carried through to the second. What a pass from Samson to Tlusty, who gives the Canes a 2-1 lead just :10 into the second period.

Development wise Tlusty is panning out well under Muller and crew

by Squeaky83 on Feb 18, 2012 8:02 PM EST up reply actions

Again, he’s so good that you almost have to concede that he’s going to score at some point. When he’s doing stuff like that, I don’t care if you have six Charas on your blue line, it doesn’t make a bit of difference.

by Brian LeBlanc on Feb 18, 2012 8:07 PM EST reply actions

As an aside, is it a good or a bad thing that Tlusty is fourth on the team with fourteen goals? As in, is he having a career year, or is he only there because others haven’t been pulling their slack?

Discuss.

by Brian LeBlanc on Feb 18, 2012 8:12 PM EST reply actions

Juice looks like his focusing more on his 2 way game, though last time I checked his not playing on our 3rd line..

by CruelIn10tions on Feb 18, 2012 8:15 PM EST up reply actions

I think Staal and Tlusty feed off of each other pretty well. It looks to me like a good pairing, and has I don’t know maybe given Tlusty the confidence he needs to play up to his original potential.

Which is completely unreal, given that he’s on a two-way AHL deal. He’s the A’s version of Brian Elliott.

if Murphy cannot backup on Monday, the Canes are signing Muse to a NHL contract. He had a reliable source, couldnt get name.

I don’t blame Peters on that one. He stopped the first two shots and was tied up by his own team.
