Staal Reunion...again...?

Kukla at Kulas Korner opined that Jordan Staal's availability this summer or next may lead to another Staal reunion in Canes Country. With Crosby, Malkin, and Staal up for new contracts in the next two seasons, they may not retain all three.

Pittsburgh may opt to move Staal this summer, but maybe hampered by his UFA status next year. As Kukla points out, Staal has influence on where he lands this year or next. Could the Canes make a play this summer or wait for him to hit the market next year?

An Eric-Jordan-Brandon Sutter 1-2-3 down the middle could be an enviable strength. Size: Check. Two-way play: Check. Young core: Check.

Kukla also thinks ALL the Staal brothers may like to play together some day. With Eric the fixture and face of the franchise, he is not going anywhere. Carolina could become Thunder Bay South.

Jordan Staal could be a great consolation prize should Carolina lose the Zach Parise derby.
