Former Hurricanes coach Paul Maurice has decided to take the helm of Metallurg of the KHL. Maurice will has accepted a one year deal worth $2 million to coach a team that made the KHL's top four this year. It also appears former Carolina goalie and coach Tom Barrasso will be following him.

With all the shuffle this year and staff movement recently, the Canes management is headed in a different direction. Hopefully with better results. Well wishes to Maurice and Barrasso. Hope they are brushing up on Russian.
