JR pulled the trigger on the Jordan Staal move and showed he is willing to give up talent in order to acquire it. With one of Carolina's biggest needs being on defense and the Hurricanes showing considerable interest in bringing all the Staal brothers together why not make a offer to the Rangers for Marc Staal?

Would the Rangers accept a package consisting of Ryan Murphy, Victor Rask and either a high draft pick or jamie mcbain/joni pitkanen? If JR was able to swing a trade that turned some of our puck moving defensemen into a top shut down defenseman could we complain? JR said he is still open to making trades and would have been giving up a lot for Nash. I don't see why he wouldn't at least push to make such a move and create even more excitement in the build up to next season while also addressing a huge need. Thoughts?
