I have been looking for a post on here about what people think that the Hurricanes need to complete our roster, and I haven't seen one. I figured I would make a post where people can post on their thoughts on the matter. Everyone likes being GM :)

I personally think the Hurricanes have 2 big needs that they need to address.

1. Our biggest need is a true top 2-4 shutdown defensman. A guy that can replace Bryan Allen's role from last year. Our defensemen need some help back there shutting down other teams. We have some mobile and puck movers, but we truly lack defensive stay at home type guys.

2. Our second biggest need is a true 3rd line center. I know that Jussi Jokinen is doing great at faceoffs, but I think this is something that we are lacking. Jokinen also needs some help. I do not see his line being too effective as it stands now. Our top two lines are looking good, but we lack that third line to compete against big market or deep teams.

Overall I think the Canes are looking pretty good, and we can do fairly well how we are setup now IMO, but if we add those two pieces and then add Ruutu back to the lineup then we will be a team to be reckoned with. What are your thoughts?
