Today is a pretty laid back day at work and I found myself highlighting the Hurricanes
schedule by division. I'm trying to wrap my head around which teams are in what divisions by mid-season. and I think I found something just interesting enough for a quick post.
I found that we play our division rivals pretty evenly throughout the season. Usually 5 games each month (4 in December; 6 in March).
And we play, at most, 3 games in a row vs. division opponents [Oct. 6-10, Nov. 2-7, March 7-11, April 5-10]).
We only play 7 games in April and 5 of them are division opponents so it looks like a year where we could bounce in and out of the playoffs after every game for that last month.
We play the Atlantic division 4 games in a row (Nov. 18 – Nov. 24).
And we play the Pacific division 5 games in a row (Dec. 6 – Dec. 14).
I wanted to just throw this out the for all the caniacs. Has anyone else noticed anything about the schedule that's just kind of interesting to note?
(Warning: There is a chance I got distracted while highlighting which would make this post inaccurate, but I think I got it right.)
