Like Eric Staal, Jeff Skinner is a good offensive player and not good defensively.
Skinner has less of a track record than Staal, so I have looked at Goals and Corsi. GF is Goals For. CA is Corsi Against. ON is Skinner on the ice, OFF is Skinner on the bench. All are rates per 60 minutes of 5v5 time.

The short season last year looks like an aberration. Without it, the average GFON/60 is 2.99 and the Net average is 0.95.
Average for GF On/60 tends to be around 2.3-2.4. Top offensive players are usually up above 3.50. Of players with at least 20 games, Jamie Benn led the league at 4.15. Jeff was Number 144 .
Jeff was on the ice for 39 goals. He scored 19 of them.

Once again, the short season looks unusual. Without it Net averages 2.15.
The GF and CF last year are discordant. More shots on but more goals off. Looking at shooting percentage, On Ice Shooting was 5.04%. Off Ice was 9.39%. That'll do it.

A mixed bag. Without the short season the net average is 1.94.
The overall GA and CA are discordant. With Jeff on the ice the Canes give up more goals on fewer Corsi events. Some of that is goalie randomness, but it suggests Jeff may be giving up easier shots.
