I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!
For those of you who have been around a bit, remember the good old days from 12 years ago when the Hurricanes beat the Montreal Canadiens on Mother's Day? Other than the Stanley Cup win, it could have been one of the most enjoyable games a Carolina fan could experience.
The home team dominated the Habs from start to finish, winning it 5-1, and took the lead in the series, 3-2. That was one great Mother's Day memory for 18,853 Caniacs.
The Hurricanes were obviously not beating anyone this Mother's Day but instead released a Mother's Day related video as Manny Malhotra and Justin Faulk spoke about their hockey moms.
In other news, the Canes also released a video introducing Mike Vellucci. This guy has been a winner at almost all levels, hopefully, he can bring that attitude with him to Carolina.
Next up is a video of Ron Francis with a message to season ticket holders which has been talked about on Twitter. Again, in his message he repeats that everything in the organization is being looked at, including the players. He also mentions that the franchise utilizes analytics.
I will be posting another "Closer Look" feature soon, this time featuring a few of the other possible coaches we have not looked at yet.
