About - FAQ

Canes Country is an independent website concentrating on information and viewpoints about the Carolina Hurricanes, as well as the rest of the NHL. Over the years we have expanded the site and will continue to make upgrades and changes as needs dictate. Some of the extras that the site offers includes a calendar which lists schedule information as well as other notable events and a salary chart which shows how the team fits within the salary cap as well as the contract status of your favorite player. Scroll and click around to check on the multitude of links and/or newsfeeds of various other hockey sites.

We will be changing things as it seems appropriate and will do our best to keep the site user friendly and informative. If anyone has information you think we could use, wants to be a guest blogger, has a suggestion, or wants to contribute in some other way, please contact us at canescountry@gmail.com.

Thanks for visiting!

FAQ--

1. Who is this "Bubba" character?

"Bubba" is simply the offbeat nickname of the founder of the site and primary contributor. He's a middle aged male who has been a hardcore Hurricanes fan since the 2000 season. This site allows him the opportunity to combine his long time ambition of being a sportswriter along with the fun of being a fan. Is it possible to be both? Why not? Consider this to be a hybrid blog of sorts, a combination of a fan blog as well as a citizen journalist web-log with information about the team and the NHL, mixed in with personal opinions.

2. Most recently, (July 2008), I have been asked to write a Hurricanes Blog for The Hockey News. You can check the most recent articles under the THN Hurricanes Blog, RSS feed on the right.
