Hurricanes prospects Zac Dalpe and Kyle Lawson will both be going to the NCAA Tournament. Lawson and Notre Dame earned the second overall seed and No. 1 seed in the Midwest Region. They will face Bemidji State Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Dalpe and Ohio State received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division I Tournament. They will meet No. 1 overall seed Boston University in the opening round of the Northeast region Saturday 28 at 5:30 p.m. Also worth noting, Wisconsin did not receive a bid, so the Hurricanes could conceivably begin negotiations with junior defenseman Jamie McBain, who is coming off a monster season that has him among 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award.

Wisconsin junior defenseman and Carolina Hurricanes prospect Jamie McBain is piling up the honors. Not only did McBain earn conference player of the year and first-team honors at the WCHA Final Five Awards Banquet, he also found out he was one of 10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award, given annually to college hockey's top player.
