The Hockey News posted on their site a list of the top-10 Calder Trophy candidates for rookie of the year, and Carolina forward Zach Boychuk comes in at No. 10.
While the article may be off a bit — Boychuk's chances of playing his way on to the roster this preseason dropped dramatically with this week's signing of center Stephane Yelle — it's been a long time since a Canes prospect has been considered to be in the running for the award.
