Anniversary

Happy anniversary to Canes Country! It was about a year ago that I finally decided to take the plunge and register "Canes Country" as an official domain name. Of course if you check the archives, you'll see some earlier posts that I transferred here from a previous blog of mine, but the "Canes Country" domain and stand alone site is only one year old. It seems much older than that! I'm celebrating the event with a newly designed banner and logo, thanks to my new friend Brandon! The talented designer basically took my ideas and concepts from scratch and turned them into reality for me. I think he did an outstanding job. Thanks again, Brandon! If any of you are in need of graphic design work being done, he's very reasonable. Just send me an email, and I will hook you up. Also a shout out goes to Wufpirate for his help. Thanks again dude! Whalers fans, do you notice a hint of the old logo anywhere?

We plan to keep evolving and growing here at CC as much as possible. I won't go into too much detail, but there will be some more changes and additions coming soon. We'll also be celebrating the Hurricanes' 10th anniversary throughout the year with a number of interesting events. For instance, look soon for a Canes history page with the good, the bad, and the ugly from the past 10 years. There will also be more give-aways this season, including 2 free tickets to a Hurricanes game! Keep an eye out for that announcement after the season starts. As always, if anyone has a suggestion, question, or has tried to find information and couldn't find it, please let me know. We aim to please here!

At this time, I'd like to also say a few words of thanks. First of all, I really appreciate the way the other Hurricanes bloggers who were active at the time, embraced me right from day one. Thank you fellow Caniacs! Also, a big thank you goes out to my friends and family of course, for their help and support. In addition, I'd like to thank those of you who have taken the time to email me, either providing me with information, or even to ask me a question. It's always nice to see letters in the inbox! Finally, a big thank you to all the readers, fans, and members of Canes Country! I know we are not the largest or best site in the blogoshere, but we have a very loyal, steady following that continues to grow and grow. People come here for a variety of reasons, from listening to music, to reading about hockey, to see what song title I come up with next, or maybe they just come to check the news feed headlines. Whatever the reasons are that make you visit Canes Country, thank you for coming!

Tomorrow, we will review the poll results and start a new one. Have a great day!
