TV Crimes

One might say it's a crime not to broadcast hockey games in HD TV in this day and age. Time Warner Cable has been a bit lacking in that regard. While Versus is broadcasting all NHL games in HD format this year, up until now the cable conglomerate hasn't been able to transcend that luxury to it's vast customer base. That's all about to change! It's been announced that Time Warner Cable will begin showing Versus hockey broadcasts in HD beginning October 15th! Versus will be sharing channel 283 with HD Golf while A&E will be broadcasting in HD on channel 284. For more information you can check out this link, Time Warner channel updates.

A big thanks goes to Chris and Donald for the heads up in their emails!

Now if we could just get Fox Sports South to televise their games in HD, Caniacs would be living in a perfect HD world. There's no word on that yet though. As soon as we hear anything about a change regarding those broadcasts, we will post the news here on the Canes Country Blog!

Tonight the Nashville Predators will be in town for a pre-season tune-up. The Preds just played last night, (beating Atlanta), and will also play again tomorrow night in a back to back situation with the Canes. That makes three consecutive games for them! Of course they do have a larger than normal roster, but 3 games in a row seems a bit much. Look for Cam Ward and Michael Leighton to share time in the net tonight. The regulars scheduled to play include Rod Brind'Amour, Ray Whitney, Scott Walker, Matt Cullen, and Cory Stillman.
