Join Together

I'd like to join together with my fellow Canes Bloggers in reminding everyone that Monday night, October 22nd, the Carolina Hurricanes are offering discounted tickets and will be donating a portion of the ticket proceeds to Hockey Fights Cancer, a charity founded by both the NHL and NHLPA. It always warms my heart when I see these two, normally bickering organizations, combining forces for such a great cause! That night the Canes will be taking on the Vancouver Canucks, so come on out and not only watch a great hockey game, help contribute to a worthwhile objective. Each team in the league is sponsoring a special night for the charity, and this is the night for Carolina. For more information, check out this link. Thanks goes to my bud WufPirate over at Carolina on Ice for spreading the word and for the idea that all of us should join forces on talking about this. I wish we could do more. I know Monday nights are not always the best, but if you're sitting on the fence about going to this game, jump off and GO!

The Who

>>>>UPDATE>>>>

It's just been announced that popular NC State women's basketball coach Kay Yow will drop the puck in a pre-game ceremony Monday night. For those who might not know, Yow is a cancer survivor herself. For more information, check out this link.
