The Carolina River Rats are in Atlanta to take on the Thrashers tonight, in a rematch of Wednesday night's overtime "thrilla in vanilla". Newbie, Michael Leighton will get the nod, as the Canes start right off by seeing what the recently recalled goalie can do. You better bring your scorecard to the coffee table tonight, because there will be some unfamilar faces and numbers on the ice for the Hurricanes.
Brandon Nolan and Keith Aucoin were also both recalled as Scott Walker, Justin, Williams, Nic Wallin, David Tanabe, Matt Cullen, Bret Hedican, and Andrew Ladd are all on the shelf for Carolina. Ladd might be available as soon as Tuesday, but the rest seem out for awhile. The lines according to Luke are as follows...
- Staal-Cole-Whitney
- Brind'Amour-Stillman-LaRose
- Aucoin-Adams-Hamilton
- Letowski-Brookbank-Nolan
- Kaberle-Seidenberg
- Gleason-Commodore
- Wesley-Borer
This ought to be very interesting!
In other, not so shocking news, John Grahame has cleared waivers and will report to Albany. There will be no attempts to have him re-enter the waiver process at this time probably because there is no interest by any other team in obtaining his rights. Good luck to John. Hopefully he finds his game at the lower level.
Team USA is playing team Canada in a WJC semi-final game right now. Good luck to team USA and Hurricanes propect Jamie McBain.
The Hurricanes game is on FSN with the pre-game show starting at 7 tonight. TGIF!
