Drayson Bowman Inked for Three

The Carolina Hurricanes signed prospect, Drayson Bowman to a three year entry level deal today. The Canes selected Bowman with their second pick, (72nd overall), in the third round of the 2007 draft.

The forward had a tremendous season last year and led his junior team, the Spokane Chiefs to a Memorial Cup victory as he led the entire tournament with six goals scored in just four games. He scored 42 goals and had 40 assists for the Chiefs in the regular season.

Bowman's deal will pay him $550,000, $600,000, and $650,000 at the NHL level and will pay him $65,000 each year that he plays in the minors. Although he could still return to juniors for one more year. He earned a signing bonus of $262,500.

Fans will be able to see the youngster attempt to make the team at this fall's training camp.
