The Hurricanes finally return to action this evening, hosting the New York Rangers in a battle of teams jousting for not only position, but a spot in the postseason. The Canes have been sitting back and watching all the teams they're in competition with make up their "in-hand" games, but luckily Carolina still finds themselves in in sixth.
Cam Ward was named the NHL's first star for March. Also, Paul Maurice and Eric Staal are getting mentioned for some hardware of their own. In major junior hockey, prospect Zach Boychuk faced a Game 7 in the first-round of the WHL playoffs.
