Cole, LaRose, Wesley To Appear At Summer Fun Fest

Free event begins Friday, July 24, at 6 p.m. on the RBC Center’s South lawn RALEIGH, NC—Jon Chase, Director of Promotions & Fan Development Marketing for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that Hurricanes forwards Erik Cole and Chad LaRose, and Hurricanes Director of Defenseman Development Glen Wesley will appear at the team’s Summer Fun Fest on Friday night. The Second Annual Canes Summer Fun Fest begins at 6 p.m. at the RBC Center and includes live music, sledding on artificial snow, interactive inflatables and games, local mascots, discounted concessions and the showing of a classic Hurricanes game. Parking and admission to the event are free to the general public. The Summer Fun Fest will take place rain or shine. Cole, LaRose and Wesley will be a part of a special "State of the Hurricanes" forum hosted by television voice of the Hurricanes and the NHL on Versus John Forslund. That portion of the evening will include a question-and-answer session with the fans, and will start at 8 p.m. At 9 p.m., fans can enjoy a special encore presentation of Game 7 of the Hurricanes’ Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series against the New Jersey Devils. "The Shock at the Rock" was chosen by the fans through an online vote as the game to be shown at the Summer Fun Fest. The Hurricanes will play the first game of their 2009 exhibition schedule when they host the Nashville Predators on Friday, Sept. 18, at 7 p.m. at the RBC Center.
