The Carolina Hurricanes flew to Nashville today to complete their preseason schedule for a match up with the Predators at 8 p.m. tonight. The Canes lost the first of the two game series to the team by a score of 4-2 in Raleigh last week.
Michael Leighton will be in net for Carolina as apparently, Cam Ward got enough work last night. Erik Cole and Tom Kostopoulos did not make the trip and will not play. Brandon Sutter and Tim Conboy will fill in for them.
(Cole and Kostopoulos are not expected to miss any substantial time. The team says that they are just staying home for precautionary measures.)
The lines have not been announced yet, but will probably be much like they were last night. Although, it will be interesting to see where they play Sutter since the team's four starting centers are all expected to play and that is Sutter's natural position. There is no word yet whether or not young defenseman Jamie McBain will see action, but he should have another opportunity as well.
For the Nashville perspective, check out The Forechecker's fine site.
Unlike last night where the Canes faced a secondary Thrashers lineup, they should see most of the Preds starters in Nashville. Video of the game is not streamed online that we know of, but will be broadcast by 99.9 The Fan, the team's flagship station. You can listen online at this link. The puck drops at 8 p.m.
