Brand New Day: Panthers At Hurricanes, Game Day Preview

The Florida Panthers and Carolina Hurricanes will do battle again as they complete part two of their back-to-back and home-and-home series tonight at the RBC.  The Canes defense was abused in a 7-4 loss on Friday night in Florida, so they should be looking for some redemption.

There was no morning skate or media availability this morning, so we will not know about starting goalies, lines, or scratches until closer to game time.  Chuck Kaiton mentioned on the radio yesterday that there was a 50/50 chance Joni Pitkanen could play, it is possible he could be back in the lineup.

Coach Paul Maurice changed up his lines in the third period last night.  Will he keep them same same as he left them in the third, or will he return them to where they were at the beginning of the game?  As soon as we know, we will post that here.

Hockeymom has her informative game day sheet available.  Feel free to print it and take it to the game as a reference.

Canes Country's Game Guide: Hurricanes vs Panthers

The beautiful thing about hockey is that Friday night's disappointment can quickly be forgotten with a solid performance and win at the RBC tonight.  But the loss puts more pressure on the Canes to perform.  Tonight's game is important.

There will be no local television broadcast of the game.  Chuck K will have the call on 99.9 The Fan and I will be chirping in from our open game thread live from the press box.   I'll post any updates from there starting at 6:30.
