The Carolina Hurricanes just announced today that they will play six preseason games before leaving for Europe this fall. That makes a total of seven as they also play St. Petersburg of the KHL in an exhibition game previously scheduled to take place in Russia on October 4.
After that matchup, they will open the regular season in Helsinki against the Minnesota Wild on October 6 and 7.
This number of exhibitions is a bit of an increase after scheduling a league low four preseason games last year, which was an admitted mistake by team management.
The fun gets started at the RBC on September 21 against Florida. The other familiar preseason foes will be Nashville and Atlanta.
Training camp opens on September 17. Check out the schedule after the jump.
