Defensemen Austin Levi and Rasmus Rissanen became the first two players gone from Carolina’s training camp, with both players being assigned to their junior teams for the 2010-11 season, according to a release from the Hurricanes.
Levi, a third-round pick in this year’s draft, will rejoin the OHL's Plymouth Whalers, while Rissanen, a sixth-round pick in 2009, heads back to the WHL’s Everett Silvertips. The moves bring Carolina’s roster down to 43 44 players, with the team now carrying 14 defensemen.
