Charlotte Training Camp Opens Today: Home Opener Is The 15th, Tickets Still Available

The Charlotte Checkers open training camp today at their practice facility in Indian Trail, North Carolina.  The Hurricanes recently sent 18 players to their affiliate, including Mike Murphy, Jared Staal, Matt Kennedy, and Bryan Rodney

The Checkers first regular season game at home is scheduled for Friday, October 15 and we will be celebrating the event with them.  If you would like to attend, Canes Country readers have been approved for group pricing with the team and you can obtain lower level seats for $15 each.  Simply email Mike Lappan at mlappan@gocheckers.com to reserve your tickets for section 115.  There are no other fees involved, just $15 per ticket.

We have also reserved a bus for the trip, but interest has been very low for that so far.  (We might have to cancel the bus and return the money to people who have signed up if we don't get more interest.)  The cost for each seat on the bus is $20.  It will be leaving Raleigh at about 3 p.m. and returning after the game, probably arriving back in Raleigh around 12:30 to 1 a.m.  The bus is equipped with WiFi and has power ports for recharging electronic devices.  For more information, check out this site, Southern Express.

If you would like to reserve a spot on the bus, you can pay directly using our PalPal account at canescountry@gmail.com, or email us for more information at canescountry@gmail.com.

This is really going to be an exciting night as the Checkers organization is going all out to celebrate their first ever AHL game in Charlotte.  Giveaways will be provided for the first 6,500 fans.
