After a frustrating and disappointing loss in Washington, D.C. last night, the Carolina Hurricanes, (31-27-10) will get right back at it with a game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, (31-27-9) tonight at the RBC.
The Blue Jackets are also coming off a game last night as they lost at home to the Los Angeles Kings, 4-2.
Defenseman Jamie McBain was injured in DC and is not expected to play tonight. There has been nothing official from the team yet, but if McBain can not go, Derek Joslin will play in his stead.
Will Paul Maurice stick with the same lines from last night, or will he try something new? Will Drayson Bowman get another look? There was no morning skate earlier, so we will find out at game time.
The Blue Jacket lines are projected as follows:
Rick Nash | Derick Brassard | Jakub Voracek |
R.J. Umberger | Antoine Vermette | Matt Calvert |
Scottie Upshall | Samuel Pahlsson | Derek Dorsett |
Chris Clark | Derek MacKenzie | Jared Boll |
Jan Hejda | Sami Lepisto |
Fedor Tyutin | Marc Methot |
Craig Rivet | Kris Russell |
Thanks to our friends at The Cannon for providing the information above. They also have a game day preview up. (No tailgating in Columbus?)
The last time these two teams got together back in November 2009, Rick Nash sliced up Cam Ward's leg and the Blue Jackets won, 3-2. The Jackets have won the last three meetings against the Canes.
Tonight the Hurricanes are celebrating Military Appreciation Night. Come early to check out the various exhibits. In view of the circumstances, Mike Sundheim has asked for extra respect during the National Anthem.
