The Eastern Conference is tightening up and while the Carolina Hurricanes are still in eighth place at the moment, the Buffalo Sabres are now just one point behind, with two more games to play before the Canes face their next opponent on Wednesday night.
The Sabres have two road games, one in Minnesota, Sunday evening and one in Pittsburgh, Tuesday night. After their big win against the Flyers yesterday, Buffalo is 4-0-2 in their last six games.
The Canes are in need of a similar stretch of games. After taking the day off Saturday, they will have a practice at the Rec Zone today starting at 12:15. (UPDATE: Due to conditions at the Rec Zone, the players will be working out off ice today.)
I'm in the process of working on a couple of articles which should be completed shortly. In the meantime, here are a few links which might be of interest.
