Charlotte Checkers Announce Clear Day Roster

The Carolina Hurricanes’ top affiliate, the AHL's Charlotte Checkers, announced their 22-player clear day roster Tuesday. In essence, the list sets the Checkers’ lineup for the balance of the season unless a player is recalled to Carolina or suffers an injury or is suspended. CHECKERS ANNOUNCE CLEAR DAY PERIOD ROSTER

List includes 22 players eligible for remainder of season and playoffs

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers, in conunction with the American Hockey League, have released their 22-man Clear Day period roster.

According to AHL by-laws, only those players listed on a team’s Clear Day roster are eligible to compete in the remainder of the 2010-11 AHL regular season and in the 2011 Calder Cup Playoffs, unless emergency conditions arise as a result of recall, injury or suspension.

Teams may also add signed junior players or players on amateur tryout contracts after their respective junior or college seasons are complete.
