Former Carolina Captains in the News

Two former captains of the Carolina Hurricanes made the news wire today.

First off, the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce announced that Rod Brind`Amour was selected by it's Leadership Qualities graduates as "Distinguished Leader of the Year."  Brind’Amour will be honored by the program following Leadership Raleigh’s 26th annual graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 9.

More info is available on CH.com.

It was also announced on Twitter this afternoon that Kevin Dineen would soon be named as the next head coach for the Florida Panthers.  Dineen was the first captain to serve in Carolina when the team moved from Hartford and was one of the best ever to lace them up for the Whalers.   The official press conference is scheduled for tomorrow.
