Carolina Hurricanes General Manager Jim Rutherford will be holding a news conference today at noon at the RBC Center regarding the restructuring of the team's hockey department. It's expected that he will announce the addition of Rod Brind`Amour to the club's coaching staff.

((UPDATE)) Darren Dreger is Tweeting that the Canes have hired Dave Lewis to coach the defense. Lewis played defense in the NHL for 16 years, but is most noted for taking over the Detroit Red Wings after coaching legend Scotty Bowman retired in 2002.
Lewis was fired by the Wings after two early playoff exits.
He coached the Boston Bruins during the 2006-07 season before being let go after one year.
