It's increasingly looking like the Checkers' previously scheduled January 6 game at PNC Arena against the Norfolk Admirals will be the first hockey game of any sort played in Raleigh during the 2012-13 season. At the very least, we know that this is one game that won't be cancelled.
(Now watch it snow three feet the day before the game and keep the Admirals from getting into town. The way this offseason has gone, would it surprise you? Me neither.)
Tickets go on sale November 1, with a presale available to Canes and Checkers season-ticket holders beginning October 29. For this game, only the first and second levels of the arena will be available, and if you ever wanted to explore life on the club level but didn't want to mortgage your house to do so, now's your chance: the cheapest tickets in the house are $15 seats in the club corners.

Tickets to see Hurricanes’ AHL affiliate in Raleigh go on sale Nov. 1
RALEIGH, NC – Tera Black, Chief Operating Officer of the American Hockey League’s Charlotte Checkers, today announced that tickets for the Checkers’ game against Norfolk on Jan. 6 at PNC Arena will go on sale to the general public on Thursday, Nov. 1. A presale for Hurricanes and Checkers season ticket holders will begin on Monday, Oct. 29.
There are four price categories for the game, ranging from $15 in the club corners to $100 for front-row seats. Center ice seating in the lower level and club level is set at $35, and seats in the north and south end zones are $20. Tickets will be available for the general public beginning at 10 a.m. on Nov. 1 at the PNC Arena box office and all Ticketmaster locations.
The password-protected presale for Hurricanes and Checkers season ticket holders will begin at 10 a.m. on Oct. 29, and provides a $5 discount for all available seating categories with the exception of front-row seats. Season ticket holders will be emailed a password and link for the presale, and purchases may also be made at the PNC Arena box office using season ticket holder identification cards.
