A few new perks await season ticket holders at the soon-to-be-PNC Arena next season. Along with a few lower price points, especially in two north-end Sideline Premier sections, season ticket holders will be able to enjoy perks like a dedicated entrance at both the east and west entrances, discounts on arena concessions for season-ticket holders who sign up by April 30 and a graduated discount at The Eye that rises based on the length of time the ticketholder has been with the organization. Also, the team is offering an early-bird reward for fans who sign up by March 23: an invitation to a season-ticket holder's cookout party with Hurricanes players.
New this year is a large expansion of the 99.9 FanZone to cover thirteen sections in the north upper level, from section 308 to 320. However, one major change is that the $9.99 tickets will only be available to season ticket holders; the Canes will not offer $9.99 tickets as single-game tickets or in 12- or 26-game mini plans. (Which makes for a strange situation where 26-game plans in the FanZone are significantly more expensive - to the tune of $168 per ticket - than full season tickets in the same area.)
The press release from the team is below, and the full season ticket brochure is available here.
‘CANES ANNOUNCE 2012-13 SEASON TICKET PRICES, BENEFITS
Fans who renew seats by April 30 earn credit for food and beverage at PNC Arena
RALEIGH, NC – Kyle Prairie, Director of Ticket Sales for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced changes to season ticket pricing and incentives for the 2012-13 season at PNC Arena.
The Hurricanes will reduce costs for full-season tickets in several areas of the arena for the 2012-13 season. The popular $9.99 FanZone will add six new sections, spanning from section 308 to 320. The two northernmost sections of Sideline Premier in the lower level, sections 107 and 116, will see a 20 percent reduction in pricing for season ticket holders, from $72 per game to $57 per game. In addition, the top eight rows of Lower Level South will see a 33 percent price drop, from $60 per game to $45 per game. The team will also continue to offer $39 per game seating in the top eight rows of Lower Level North, the most affordable lower level seating in the team’s history.
In addition to the price changes, the Hurricanes have adjusted their incentives for season ticket holders who purchase their seats by April 30. Full-season ticket holders and 26-game plan holders who purchase by April 30 will receive PNC Arena food and beverage gift cards valued at 10 percent of their total season ticket purchase (cost of tickets, excluding handling fees and parking). Twelve-game plan holders will receive food and beverage gift cards valued at five percent of their ticket purchase.
Additional season ticket holder benefits include:
- Higher merchandise discounts for longevity: Full-season and 26-gam plan holders who have been with the team for 6-10 years will receive 15 percent off at The Eye team store. Fans who have had their plans for more than 11 years receive 20 percent off at The Eye.
- Designated season ticket holder entrances: New special building entrances on the East and West sides of the building exclusively for season ticket holders.
- 0 percent interest: Season ticket holders will be charged 0 percent interest on an eight-month payment plan for their seats.
- Continued incentives: Season ticket holders will continue to receive long-time benefits including ticket vouchers, the ticket exchange program, playoff priority and playoff discount pricing.
