Altshuller was considered for Canada's entry at the Under 18 tournament in the Czech Republic, but ultimately wasn't chosen.

Altshuller is listed at 6'3, 190 pounds, and was initially selecte by Belleville in the third round of the 20120 OHL draft. He was dealt to Oshawa, along with a fifth round pick, for future draft picks.
