The Carolina Hurricanes recently announced that they have extended the contract of Alexander Semin for five more years at a total of $35 million. The Russian will be paid $7 million per year and is signed through the 2017-18 season.
Semin has proven to be a valuable piece to the Hurricanes success this season and has also helped Eric Staal to approach career best numbers, (pro-rated through the full season).
