Hurricanes Pick D Tyler Ganly With Sixth-Round Pick

The Carolina Hurricanes used their sixth-round pick with Tyler Ganly with the 156th overall in the 2013 NHL Draft

The Carolina Hurricanes used their final pick of the 2013 NHL Draft on defenseman Tyler Ganly of the Soo Greyhounds. Ganly, a 6'2, 197-pound blueliner from Milton, Ont.

Ganly is regarded as a defensive defenseman who is willing to fight and stand up for his teammates. He was often on the Greyhounds second pairing — a defense anchored by Edmonton first-round pick Darnell Nurse.

Curiously enough, a Google search of Ganly popped up a fight between Ganly and Brent Pedersen — the player Carolina selected the round before with the 126th overall pick.
