The Sabres rank last in the NHL in both shots for (22.5) and shots against (43.5) after the season’s first weekend.That's not new territory for the Sabres: they were last in the league in shots for last season (26.3) and 28th in shots allowed (34.3).

Comparatively, Carolina is averaging 24 shots for (28th) and 28.5 shots against (T-16th) through two games, good for 22nd in shot differential.
