Today’s Number To Know looks at game-winning goals, something Carolina would like to get from anyone Tuesday in Winnipeg. But history tell us it could come from a much-needed source.

The Hurricanes need more out of Alexander Semin if they're going to get their first win of the season.

Number To Know

6 — Game-winning goals against the Winnipeg/Atlanta franchise for Alexander Semin, the most he has against any team during his career. Semin is still looking for his first goal of the 2014-15 season and has been criticized in several corners for not being more productive while Carolina is saddled with so many injuries.

Semin’s career numbers against the Jets franchise are impressive: he has 22 goals and 21 assists for 43 points in 43 games, one of six teams he has a point-per-game average against. Semin also has six power play goals against the team and a career-high 166 shots (3.86 per game).

Semin has just one multipoint game vs. Winnipeg since joining the Hurricanes, but registered 10 during his time with Capitals against the Jets and Thrashers, including six three-point games and one of his seven career hat tricks.
