Semin is still searching for his first goal of the season, having gone 12 straight without a tally. It is by far his longest season-starting goal drought: Prior to this season, Semin’s longest stretch of games he had played to start a season without a goal was four in 2007-08. In his eight other NHL seasons, he scored his first in his first game three times, in his second and third game once, and the fourth game three times.

Semin is riding a three-game assist streak and has five points on the season.
