Patrick Dwyer has been a member of the Carolina Hurricanes for six seasons now and has been pretty consistent with what he brings to the table. Dwyer is entering the final year of his two-year contract this season.
Last season he bounced a bit from line to line and chipped in with eight goals and 14 assists in 75 games, while averaging about 14 minutes a game of ice time.
The the shortened season of 2012-13 was the best of his career as he averaged .17 goals a game and .35 points a game.
Year | Games | Goals | Assists | Points | G/PG | A/PG | P/PG |
10 | 80 | 8 | 10 | 18 | 0.10 | 0.13 | 0.23 |
11 | 73 | 5 | 7 | 12 | 0.07 | 0.10 | 0.16 |
12 | 46 | 8 | 8 | 16 | 0.17 | 0.17 | 0.35 |
13 | 75 | 8 | 14 | 22 | 0.11 | 0.19 | 0.29 |
274 | 29 | 39 | 68 | 0.11 | 0.14 | 0.25 |
Over the past fours years, the winger has averaged .11 goals and .25 total points per game a season while averaging playing in 76 games per season. What can we expect this season?
Dwyer's numbers have been trending upward in recent years and he is also playing for a new contract. The notion that his new general manager wants the team to eventually get bigger, could also provide some extra motivation.
I am going to project that he does a bit better than his four year average and gets closer to his career best.
Projection for Dwyer: 75 Games 11 goals 14 assists
Agree or disagree? Next up is Nathan Gerbe.
