The Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday announced their season-ticket campaign for the 2015-16 season. Renewals and new season ticket packages are available now, and the priority deadline for the team's "30 Prizes in 30 Days" giveaway is this Friday, March 6. (More on that in a moment.)
Prices are increasing slightly, by a few bucks per game in each section, and begin at $48/game downstairs (north end, top 8 rows) and $15/game upstairs (Fan Zone). As before, full STHs in Sideline Premier and higher receive a complimentary premier parking pass to each game. All renewals and new packages sold by May 1 will receive a food and beverage credit based on the price of the package, with a 10% credit for full STHs, a 7% credit for 22-game flex packs, and a 3% credit for 11-game packs.
If those flex packs look different, that's one of the major changes this time around. Rather than the mini-plans of seasons past, the Canes are offering the ability to customize individual packages. Each package will include a ticket to opening night, and the remaining games will be selected individually. Games will be subjected to a new tiered pricing setup, in which each game is designated as "gold," "silver" or "bronze" depending on the opponent and the day of the week, which means that the packages' prices will vary. Because each package is customizable, the team will not be able to guarantee the same seat to every game in a flex package.
These pricing tiers will also be in effect for single-game ticket sales, although the team is doing away with the game-week pricing that they have used for the past few seasons.
Full STHs will also have access to "Inside the Front Office" calls with management; the usual STH party, pregame skate and autograph session; and four additional-game ticket vouchers per seat. 22-game flex plan holders will receive two additional vouchers per seat. Additionally, all new packages and renewals by March 13 will receive an invitation to the annual STH BBQ prior to the new season.
As for the prize giveaway, beginning March 6 the Canes will give away one prize a day for 30 days. The prizes are listed on the Canes' season-ticket microsite, and include a lunch with Ron Francis, a trip on the team charter to an away game in Columbus, a VIP trip to the 2015 Draft in Florida, and a 2015-16 VIP season parking pass. Any season ticket holder, full or partial, is eligible for a prize, but packages must be committed or renewed with a 30% down payment before prize eligibility opens.
What are your thoughts? Are your prices increasing, and does the increase seem fair? Do the perks encourage you to renew or purchase early? Let us know in the comments!
