After skipping the third round because they traded their pick to Vancouver in the Eddie Lack deal, the Hurricanes selected goaltender Callum Booth at number 93 overall.
Booth. listed at 6'3, seems like a steal in this position and was listed as the second best North American goalie by NHL Central Scouting. He was rated 51 overall by Bob McKenzie and in the 60's by other rating services.
Just a moment later, the Canes took another player from the "Q", center Nicolas Roy at number 96 overall. Roy is listed at 6'4 and it is said he is a beast on the forecheck.
Roy was also supposed to be drafted sooner and was projected to go in the second or third rounds by many services.
