The Carolina Hurricanes will play six preseason games prior to the start of the 2015-16 season, the team announced Wednesday. Carolina will have two games each against Washington and Pittsburgh, plus games in eastern Canada vs. the New York Islanders and Ottawa.
The Canes will play twice at home, closing out their exhibition schedule by hosting the Capitals (Sept. 30 at 7 p.m.) and Penguins (Oct. 2 at 7 p.m.). The team starts the preseason on the road with games at Washington (Sept. 21) and at Pittsburgh (Sept. 22) before playing two neutral site games in Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
The Hurricanes and Islanders will play in Halifax, N.S., on Sept. 26, then meet the Senators the next night in St. John’s, N.F. Here is the release from the team.

Carolina to host Pittsburgh and Washington at PNC ArenaRALEIGH, NC – Brian Tatum, Assistant General Manager for the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the team’s 2015 exhibition schedule. Carolina will play six exhibition games prior to opening the 2015-16 regular season, including two games at PNC Arena. Ticket onsale information will be announced in the near future.
The Hurricanes will kick off their 2015 preseason schedule with a back-to-back set at Washington on Sept. 21, and at Pittsburgh on Sept. 22. Carolina will then play neutral-site games on Sept. 26 (vs. NY Islanders at Halifax, N.S.), and Sept. 27 (vs. Ottawa at St. John’s, N.F.), before finishing the preseason slate with home games against the Capitals on Sept. 30, and the Penguins on Oct. 2.
