Hurricanes Development Camp Roster Released

Carolina's prospects will be in town next week, including first round picks Haydn Fleury and Noah Hanifin

Fans will get to see most of the top prospects of the Carolina Hurricanes on the ice next week as the team will hold their annual Prospect Development Camp at the PNC Arena from July 6 through July 11.

Last week's first round pick, Noah Hanifin, as well as last year's first round pick, Haydn Fleury, are listed to be among the expected attendees.

Sergey Tolchinsky, Roland McKeown, and newly signed free agent goalie, Rasmus Tirronen will also be in town.

All of this summer's draft picks will be in attendance except for David Cotton.  We will get our first look at Sebastian Aho, Nicolas Roy, Callum Booth and others.

Newly signed defensemen Brett Pesce and Jaccob Slavin will also be here.

There will be four goalies in camp.  Collin Olson and Daniel Altshuller will join Booth and Tirronen, sharing time in net.

As always, Canes Country will be there as well and will be getting interviews after practice sessions.

‘CANES ANNOUNCE DEVELOPMENT CAMP ROSTER, SCHEDULE

Noah Hanifin among 29 players set to attend camp July 6-11 at PNC Arena

RALEIGH, NC – Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes, today announced the roster and schedule for the team’s 2015 Prospects Development Camp, to be held from July 6-11 at PNC Arena. The camp’s evening on-ice sessions will be open to the media, and fans are welcome to attend the evening on-ice sessions on July 7, July 8 and July 10. The week will be capped with the camp’s on-ice session on Saturday, July 11, as part of the Hurricanes Summerfest Celebration. Eight of Carolina’s nine selections in the 2015 NHL Draft – Noah Hanifin (5th overall), Sebastian Aho (35th overall), Callum Booth (93rd overall), Nicolas Roy (96th overall), Luke Stevens (126th overall), Spencer Smallman (138th overall), Jake Massie (156th overall) and Steven Lorentz (186th overall) – will make their first appearances in Raleigh as members of the Hurricanes organization. Other notable Hurricanes prospects attending the camp include Haydn Fleury (2014, first round), Brett Pesce (2013, third round), Roland McKeown (acquired from LA via trade), Rasmus Tirronen (free agent signing) and Sergey Tolchinsky (free agent signing). The Summerfest Celebration begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, at PNC Arena. Along with the camp’s final on-ice session, the event features an autograph session with the camp’s participants, an equipment sale and a State of the Hurricanes discussion. The family-friendly celebration will include interactive inflatables, games and experiences, free giveaways, a Canes Insider session, appearances by Stormy and the Storm Squad, discounted concessions, hockey games and extended hours at The Eye team store. Following the team practice, fans of all ages can go onto the ice and take a shot on goal. Parking and admission for the Summerfest Celebration, are free, and the entire event will be held inside PNC Arena.

Throughout Summerfest, the Hurricanes will be hosting a school supply drive to benefit Student U and StepUp Ministry. The drive will run from July 7-11, and collection bins will be located at the VIP Entrance through the week, and in the East Priority Lounge during public practices and the Summerfest Celebration. StepUp Ministry partners with children in Wake County to teach them concepts that they would not ordinarily learn or concentrate on in school. Children receive mentoring and tutoring, life-skills instruction and access to supportive community resources. Student U empowers students in Durham Public Schools to own their education by developing the academic skills and personal well-being necessary to succeed in college and beyond. The school supply drive helps to ensure the children are sent to school in the fall with all of the supplies that are essential to their education. In conjunction with Summerfest, the Hurricanes will host a season ticket open house on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11.
