Jeff Skinner notches two in Carolina's first preseason win

The Carolina Hurricanes earned their first preseason win of the season on Saturday night with a 5-3 win over the New York Islanders.  The win improved their record to 1-2.

Jeff Skinner scored twice for the Canes giving him three goals in two preseason games.  Eric Staal and Joakim Nordstrom also had goals while Victor Rask put the game away with an empty-netter to close out the scoring.

Eddie Lack split time with Drew MacIntyre and made 14 saves on 16 shots.

Noah Hanifin was credited with two assists, giving him points in two straight games.

Skinner also scored in the practice 3-on-3 scrimmage after regulation.
