Things always tend to get done when there's a deadline looming, and that's exactly what happened prior to today's 5 P.M. deadline set by the NHL that mandates that all 30 teams submit their final rosters to the league office.
Today, the Hurricanes announced the final cuts made to the training camp roster that trimmed the group down to be in accordance with the NHL's 23-man roster limit.
According to Ron Francis on the David Glenn Show (UPDATE: confirmed 4:00 pm via the press release which follows), included in the group of players who were sent down were Haydn Fleury, Trevor Carrick, Warren Foegele (returned to juniors), and Lucas Wallmark. Ryan Murphy was placed on injured reserve as he recovers from an ailment that he sustained in camp. Jakub Nakladal is not technically on the roster due to troubles with immigration, but Francis has said that he’ll likely join the team in Vancouver.
