#CaniacsUnite to Rally Around Local Family (via Section 328)

Join Section 328 for a tailgate fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 12 to help the Price family.

Tony Price (with wife Shannon) sounds the siren for Hockey Fights Cancer before the Carolina Hurricanes game against the New Jersey Devils on Nov. 6, 2016.
Jamie Kellner

A vital component of the Carolina Hurricanes experience is the close-knit community of fans that support the team and each other. And you won’t find people that have given more of themselves over the years to help the Canes community than Tony and Shannon Price. In addition to being Canes fans, for many years Tony managed the ice at local Raleigh rinks, helping many in our area find hockey for the first time, and he and Shannon have been tireless supporters of St. Baldrick’s Foundation. On a personal note, I’m proud and grateful to be considered part of their circle of friends.

Tony is now facing a difficult battle of his own, recently diagnosed with Stage 3 pancreatic and colon cancer and undergoing a rigorous and aggressive treatment regimen. He, Shannon, and their young son Sean haven’t asked for help, but they more than deserve to have their many kindnesses repaid back to them.

Our friends over at Section 328 have organized a way to do just that, and the best way they know how, with a party!

Join them this Saturday Nov. 12 for a tailgate fundraiser supporting the Price family. They have a phenomenal event planned including donated food and drinks, a cornhole tournament, raffle prizes, silent auction items, and even discounted tickets to Saturday’s game against the Washington Capitals. A minimum donation of $10 per person gets you in on all the tailgate action, and 100% of the tailgate proceeds will go to help Tony and Shannon, along with a portion of each game ticket sold.
