After scoring the game’s first goal, the Carolina Hurricanes quickly conceded the tying tally, but thanks to a timely powerplay, they jumped right back in front.
Noah Hanifin let a shot go from the point, and Jeff Skinner was there to net the rebound past Ryan Miller to make it a 2-1 game.
It’s Skinner’s tenth goal of the season, making him the first Hurricane to reach double digits in that category. Hanifin picked up his eighth assist of the year on the goal.
Derek Ryan got the secondary assist, extending his point streak to four games. He has eight points over his last nine games.
The Hurricanes have now scored on each of their last three powerplay opportunities.
