Watch: Brock McGinn sneaks away from Jack Johnson, restores Hurricanes’ lead

Oh drat, a Jack Johnson misplay led to a Canes goal.

Jamie Kellner

Jack Johnson, picked third in the 2005 NHL Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes, had a shift for the Columbus Blue Jackets he would rather soon forget that led to the Canes taking their second lead of the night.

On a delayed penalty call after Johnson hooked Elias Lindholm, the Canes took advantage of the sixth attacker and Brock McGinn scored his second goal of the season after, yes, Johnson played him too passively and McGinn snuck loose in the slot to give the Canes their third goal of the period.
