Elias Lindholm missed five games with an ill-timed upper body injury that came while he was playing his best hockey of the season for the Carolina Hurricanes. In his first game back tonight, he picked up right where he left off.
Jordan Staal forced a turnover behind the net on a partial line change, and got the puck out to the blue line where Lindholm had just come onto the net. Lindholm wired a wrist shot that deflected off Brandon Saad’s stick and caromed off Staal’s chest into the net, giving the Canes a 4-3 lead.
