The New York Islanders knotted things up at four early in period three, but the Carolina Hurricanes responded and did what they have done so efficiently as of late: score.

Teuvo Teravainen tied up the puck on an offensive zone faceoff and Lee Stempniak sniped it home from the top of the left circle.

It’s Stempniak’s ninth of the season. Teravainen got his 13th assist of the season on the goal.
